Am I alive? Yes. But only just.
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of activity (hence the hiatus from blogging), a couple of great meals (puerto azul for octopus and my mom’s kitchen for cardillo), a few gnarly nights (note to self: hydrate), a makers faire (grow your own mushrooms!) and a
RAAAAAGING pretty tame NYC bachelor party later . . . we’re back.
We ate well while in NYC. We ravaged the menu at Momofuku Noodle Bar, checked out the offerings at Ippudo, and enjoyed the fare at the Brooklyn branch of Blue Ribbon. Tasty tasty tasty. We also drank a little too well (read: I’ve all but given up whiskey) . . . but that’s for another blog.
The summer doesn’t show any signs of slowing down either. The Wooden Table is booked through August (thank you diners!). We also plan on attending the underground markets in the city, cooking up some s’mores (not to mention wood grilled steaks, and campfire chilli) in the great bay area wilderness, and bbq-ing up some goodies on the beach.
This weekend we’ll be hosting an all poultry feast. We’ll be sourcing all our fowl and eggs from a local chicken ranch and testing out a few new techniques to spruce up meal. Menu to come!
