Bringing good food to the masses

We’ve been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to take a miniaturized version of The Wooden Table on the road! A friend of The Wooden Table is celebrating his 3rd decade in very sophisticated 30 year-old fashion, with good food.

It’ll be a vegetarian affair and we want to put the same amount of thought and technique into these apps as we do for our tasting menus . . . so we have some herbivore related studying to do. There is definitely going to be a steamed bun bar which provides the perfect platform for some interesting fillings (spicy atchara and pickled shitakes are early contenders), in addition to a couple of other offerings.

As always, we want to push ourselves to be as innovative as we can with the technology available to us so I’ve been scouring my El Bulli cookbook (the picture above is a pea jelly, banana, lime ice concoction) to see if The Wooden Table can “borrow” some “inspiration” from Mr. Adria. Stay tuned, they’ll definitely be more to come on this new culinary adventure.
